These Celebrities Had Crazy Weight Transformations đ±
If youâve been trying to diet for months now, but nothing seems to work, donât fret. Carbs, sweets and fried foods are incredibly hard to resist â
even for those celebrities you worship for their incredible bodies. Take a look at how some of the most admired people in the world have gained and lost a few pounds through the years. And we still love them!
Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson is yet another celeb who does not look as slim after popping out two kids. Simpson joined Weight Watchers after the birth of her first child in 2012 and lost 60 pounds. To hers and everyoneâs disbelief, she proceeded to gain all that weight back during her second pregnancy. She has said it was important to her to include a wide range of sizes in her branded clothing line, because she herself has been âevery size.â
Matt Damon
Matt Damon is so committed to his acting roles that he has repeatedly gained and lost huge amounts of weight to portray different characters. For 1996âs Courage Under Fire, he dropped 40 pounds to give a realistic look to the drug-addicted soldier he played. In 2009, he famously packed on 30 for The Informant! âI just basically ate everything I could see for a few months,â said Damon. He completed the body-transformation hat trick for 2013âs Elysium, where he displayed an impressively chiseled physique.
Kelly Clarkson
Clarksonâs career really took off after she won American Idol in 2002. One major success followed another, but somewhere along the way she managed to lose her slim body. Public criticism hit her full force, but her true fans didnât mind this transformation at all, and gave her their unconditional support. âWhat doesnât kill you makes you strongerâ has become many peopleâs motto with good reason.
Mariah Carey
After a difficult pregnancy with twins, Mariah Carey became obese almost beyond recognition. However, thanks to a strict diet and exercise program, the diva has now lost a full 70 pounds â 40 pounds of which she says was water weight. She is now a spokesperson for the Jenny Craig diet program, which she credits with helping her lose the weight and keep it off. Because she delivered her babies via C-section, Carey said exercise wasnât an option at first. âThe diet is 90 percent of it,â she said.
Tyra Banks
Being a model, television personality, talk show host, producer, author, actress, singer and businesswoman can really take a toll on a person. Tyra Banks, who started her modeling career at the age of 15 and was the first African-American woman to appear on the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, has said she thinks she looks better after gaining a few pounds.
âI look like a different person now because I have more weight on my body and face,â she told TV host Kelly Ripa. When asked why she thinks the fashion industry insists on keeping models looking so skinny, Banks said, âI really think that designers just think clothes look better on somebody smaller. I disagree.â
50 Cent
Rapper 50 Cent went through a dramatic weight loss to play an American football player diagnosed with cancer in Things Fall Apart, a movie he also wrote. âI lost 54 pounds for it,â 50 said of his role, inspired by a friend of his who died of cancer. âThe weight started coming off and my manager told me, âYou better get yourself to a doctor!â I was so into what I was doing that I wasnât really concerned with that. I just kept looking at myself in the mirror feeling like I have to be smaller. I had to match.â
Vince Vaughn
Vince is a famous American actor, screenwriter, producer and activist who has been known to us through our screens since the â80s â way back before he landed his first major movie role in 1996âs hit comedy Swingers. However, aging has not been kind to him, and he put on some weight over the years, like many of his colleagues.
Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey is known as a yo-yo dieter, but sheâs committed to keeping the weight off this time around. She recently lost more than 40 pounds by following the Weight Watchers program.
